The best blender I have ever hadWhat can I say about the Kenwood HB795? It's all been covered by the first reviewer.
Great price and a great product.

Better than all the restAfter having been the owner of a Braun hand blender and a Kitchen Aid too, both of them malfuntioning within a year, the Kenwood looks and feel sturdy.
We'll se how it perform the coming year.
So far: no problems.

Very Professional LookingOriginally was ordering the Phillips blender when I saw this one. I was a little concerned as it only had one review against it but I needn't have worried. The quality is very good. Solid build and lots of aluminium so it looks like a prodessional machine. The motor is powerful and getting the gadgets to clip on and off is simple (I still haven't looked at the instructions). The actual hand blender is quite weighty so delicate little hands may find it a bit too much but I like it's solid feel. Easy to clean too and it replaces an old Braun hand blender and large Braun food processor so the saving in space and the extra useablity is great.

Kenwood kMix HB795 Hand Blender (Silver)Comfortable to hold, well balanced stick blender which stands upright when not in use. The stick blender makes good thick mayonnaise in seconds in the plastic beaker I saved from my old Braun version. The main reason I went for this Kenwood is the shredding/slicing disc which l have not seen available with other stick blenders. I've grated cheese, carrots, courgettes, the very hard middle of white cabbage and chocolate from the freezer which have all worked well only leaving the occasional small lump above the disc and what is even better is that it is a fine grating which I prefer. Turning the disc over allowed me to slice cabbage, carrots, onions, firm tomatoes, apples etc and again works very well. Initially I thought for two it would be ideal but now because of the 1ltr capacity processing bowl think it would cater for three adults easily.
The other reason for purchase was the stick blender, I initially purchased a Cuisinart blender which is good but unfortunately I have dexterity issues and the awkwardness of the speed dial became too irritating for me so has gone to my daughter. This is not a problem with the Kenwood as all dials, buttons clips etc are very easy to manoeuvre, also everything fits together with a resounding click and nothing is fiddly to attach or adjust. The few parts there are, are easily disassembled and quickly cleaned in the sink (The instructions say it is not dishwasher safe) and I also think you need to be careful when washing because the lid is prone to collecting water and needs a good shake and rest on it's side to drain properly. I have tried the metal whisk which did make meringues but I don't think I will use this often as I prefer my hand whisk, the aerator for making frothy drinks is good and will definitely get used. The chopping blade works reasonably well with the usual foodstuff although it states that you cannot do very hard spices or ice cubes and the blades do site a little high for some foods - this is not an issue for me as I will probably never use this blade anyway. I love the fact there is a storage plate for all the implements and the processor bowl also stores in here with the hand motor clipped in the top. It looks neat and compact out on my worktop and am happy with it.

Blender OK, Processor PoorThe Blender, frother (my kids particularly like the frothy hot chocolate it makes)and whisk attachments are fine and the drive motor seems substantial with secure fitting for accessories.
The processor however has a drive shaft running through the lid which means it cannot be submerged in water, making cleaning a bit bothersome. Trying to make a half-pint of mayonaise or processing small amounts of anything liquid in the processor is impossible - the blades are nowhere near the base of the container and so simply whizz around above the contents, processing nothing. Whilst useful for grating small amounts, it really doesn't have the power to replace a a full-size processor, like my Magimix.
